After building my pallet wood storage rack in my off grid solar powered wood shop the next step was to bring in all my tiny house construction materials and stack it all neatly into my new wood shop.
I get this awesome OSB sheeting and framing materials from the local small engine shop. They toss this stuff out and it is first come, first served.
I am using this material to build my tiny house on a budget.
I have had this wood pile since last year just before the first snow fell. I had to unload it from my truck in a hurry and put a tarp over it. It has sat there ever since waiting for the dry season to begin. It appears that this year this is not going to happen since I am getting rain just about every day this year.
So I put all my OSB sheets in the new storage rack I built in my solar powered wood shop. Next came the scraps of wood that I made using my table saw last year when building my tiny house on wheels. These are going to be useful for trim around the tiny house windows and in the corners of my tiny home.
Nothing gets wasted here at the off grid homestead.
I had to work carefully though because there are spiders, snakes and rodents living in my wood pile. This is another reason it will be good to have the wood out in the wood shop neatly standing on it side. This will not allow rodents and other animals to make their home inside.
It got too dark to see before I had the area cleaned up but I do plan to get it fully cleaned and then rake the ground. This will be a huge improvement at the off grid homestead.
I put all the little pieces and scraps on the shelf above my new wood shop storage rack. Just how I planned it.
