I put aluminum siding and roofing on our old chicken tractor to give it a new live and turn it into an awesome chicken mansion. Now our chicken tractor is wind and rain proof like never before. We got some new chicks and need to use the chicken tractor once more. In the past we used straw bales or bales of pine shavings to insulate the chickens. And we used sheet metal roofing on top to stop the weather. We used logs to hold the roofing in place. So every time we wanted to move the chicken tractor, each day, we had to remove the metal roofing and insulation and then put it all back together again when done. This was too much work. But last year I got all this aluminum siding from a mobile home demolition and planned to use it for this project.I put the siding on three sides of the chicken tractor and made some nice trim for the corners to stop the wind from tearing it apart. Then I built a light weight and removable roof for the top. This will allow us access to the birds if needed yet the entire chicken tractor is still very light and easy to move around.Stay tuned because next time I will be building an off grid solar powered chicken brooder inside our chicken tractor so we can keep the little ones safe and warm during cold nights. Thanks for watching.

But last year I got all this aluminum siding from a mobile home demolition and planned to use it for this project.

I put the siding on three sides of the chicken tractor and made some nice trim for the corners to stop the wind from tearing it apart. Then I built a light weight and removable roof for the top. This will allow us access to the birds if needed yet the entire chicken tractor is still very light and easy to move around.

Stay tuned because next time I will be building an off grid solar powered chicken brooder inside our chicken tractor so we can keep the little ones safe and warm during cold nights.
