Cleanup continues at the homestead this spring as well as orchard expansion. I am fully fencing in my orchard to prevent rabbits and chickens from destroying my plants. The chickens can destroy a garden in minutes if they can get in. They will also scratch away mulch from around trees if they get a chance. They look for bugs and a nicely trimmed garden and fresh mulch are tempting to them.We finally got the old, dead tree cleaned up. And we are using up the mulch pile this year to cover garden pathways and keep moisture around the plants.I will probably move the boats out of there now so we have a nice view of the orchard picket fence. Thanks for watching.

They look for bugs and a nicely trimmed garden and fresh mulch are tempting to them.

We finally got the old, dead tree cleaned up. And we are using up the mulch pile this year to cover garden pathways and keep moisture around the plants.

I will probably move the boats out of there now so we have a nice view of the orchard picket fence.
