Today I brought home my Ford 8N tractor to The Off Grid Project. My main goal for the day was to get this tractor home. But it had two flat tires to take care of first. It was raining on and off all day. Mostly on. We had rain most of the morning. Finally there was a break in the rain so I headed off to the tractor and pulled the tire.I tried a spare tire that I borrowed but the center hole was too small. I lost that video footage somehow. Sorry about that sudden change of scenery.I then went to town as it started to rain again. This was good timing for a trip anyway during the rain.I went to the first auto shop I found and they had two scrap tires that they just gave me. I paid for an inner tube because the tires were pretty bad and went back to the land where my tractor waited for me.I got the tire on and it was holding air. I then pumped up the back tires to 15 PSI and put some air in the other front tire as well since it was low.And then I was able to drive my new tractor home to the off grid homestead. It was cold and raining on the drive. I had a rain jacket but it was still quite cold. The tractor drove well and the tires held air. I was so happy to get the tractor home. Back on the homestead I put it through all its gears to try it out fully. Everything works. There is a bit of a hammering sound with every rotation of the axle. I am not sure what that is. It sounds just like a hammer on the side of the transmission case. I will record it later and see what you think. For the most part this tractor will be used to power my sawmill anyway. Thanks for watching.
