I worked in the raised greenhouse beds for a while in between thunderstorms today and something huge arrived to the off grid homestead.
The tomatoes and cucumbers are getting bigger and need support. I wanted to have them growing over our heads in the greenhouse. So today, in between thunderstorms, I put up heavy gauge chicken wire to tie the plants on to.
It was raining on and off all day. But it was more thunder and lightning than anything. I stayed inside during those times for safety. I do not want to be working on a metal framed structure in a lightning storm.
So it was sort of slow going but I eventually got some wire tied up and supporting the garden vegetables. I figure they will grow nicely now.
The greenhouse is producing food for us literally every day now.
We got something new delivered to the off grid homestead today. I picked up this Morso Danish wood stove for only $100 at a garage sale. It is used but it is new for us. And it is in very good shape. I dont think it was used much.
This is a solid and heavy cast iron air tight wood stove. The forums online say these will burn up to 12 hours and still have enough coals to light a fire the next morning. This is exactly what we needed.
This stove will heat up to 2,500 sq feet they say.
