My Battery bank is 48 Volt and I have six of those banks.
I get so many comments that my wires are way to thin,, Well I can use four times smaller cables compared to a 12 volt system, and I can use 6 times smaller cables as I have 6 banks.
This tool is good for wire thicknes : http://www.solar-wind.co.uk/cable-sizing-DC-cables.html
So if I had a 12v and only one bank I would need 70mm² cables to supply the 208 Amps to the 2500 Watt inverter. But as I only need 52 Amps because of the 48 Volt, a 6mm² cable will do the same. But I also have 6 banks,, 52/6= 8.68A,,,, 1.5mm² from each Bank will give me up to 66A before I loss more than 1% in the cables.
