Description:
We are trying to become self sufficient in time on our off grid homestead. Today we have taken a huge step toward that goal.

Part of making your homestead self sufficient is to provide your own source of income. Generally this comes from materials on the homestead such as trees from our land turned into lumber on our mill and processed in my off grid wood shop.

But today we brought home the groceries from our Asian grocery store. Now we can run our own business on the homestead. We can work the land while running our online business.

We rented a uhaul trailer and picked up the bulk of the groceries from our old location in town. We got them home and put them into our new shed which will hold our online Filipino grocery store. We deliver to local homes or ship remotely.

I was able to process our first three orders in our new location on the homestead right after I finished setting up inside. This felt really good. It is a huge step toward making our homestead more self sufficient.

Melanie was inside making a video for her own channel. She said she would make it in her own language though for today.

When I got in for dinner I found that she had made a very good looking and tasting noodle dish.

Outside I processed some fire wood for a while. We have burnt through most of our aged fire wood already. Now we are picking through the wood pile looking for anything we can burn.

I stacked some of the wood and sorted as I worked. I was able to sort out some fie wood that we can burn right away. Some we can take inside and let it dry out for a week before we burn it, if needed.

Tomorrow I will return the uhaul, drop off the packages at the post office and get some gas for my log splitter and chainsaw.

It is time to get some more fire wood processed.
