I bought a Ford 8N tractor a while ago but never got it running yet. Today I went over and got it going. I kept the camera recording as I worked. I had not ever tried to start this tractor before.I had purchased this for scrap price because two tires were flat and the steering was frozen up. Before I made the purchase I studied online how hard it would be to repair the steering. When I was satisfied, I made the deal.Today I finally managed to get out there to work on the tractor. This will be used to power my sawmill.I first put in a battery and then spayed some carburetor cleaner into the carb. The engine fired and ran for a second. This is very good. This means I can get the engine running easily.Next I cleaned the fuel sediment bowl and emptied the gas tank. I flushed the tank, lines and carb with some fresh gas. Then I used some starter fluid and the engine fired up and ran. And it ran well. Now it starts in a second or two without starter fluid.I inflated the back tire so I could pull the tractor out of its place and make it easier to work on later. I have to change the bad front tire so I can bring this tractor home tomorrow.Once home I will get a tube for the rear tire and fix that one as well.A tractor is a very valuable tool on the homestead. Thanks for watching.
