To learn why I moved the sawmill to our homestead, watch the video here: https://diytube.video/v/36305

This was a task for me because in part I did it alone. I am not so experienced at backing up such a long trailer. But I got it done.

When I first tried to back up the mill, the axle slipped out of place. So I had to jack it up and put the axle back. Then I had to strap it in place so it would roll as I wanted it to.

After that it was just a matter of moving forward and backward, inching the mill in reverse along the tight, curving lane where it was tucked in.

Once I got onto the road, it was very very slow going. It took me about an hour and a half to get it 2-3 miles home because the tire had a flat spot. Each time that spot hit the road, it shook the truck violently if I was going over 3 mph. Under that speed and the mill handled fine. I also did not want to damage the mill with such violent shaking.

Eventually I got it home and parked it where it will stay for now.

I went to town and got grease for my grease gun. Tomorrow I will lube up the mill and tractor and see if I can get this running.
