Finally I started to frame in the gates of our homestead driveway. We are fencing in our entire property for protection and security. Today I am working on the entrance gates.I started out framing in one gate on the ground. I am trying to make it perfectly square so the gates mesh together nicely and look good. The frame is smaller than the pickets which will go on it. And the entire gate will be a couple inches off the ground to stop rot.I managed to get two gates framed and hung on hinges so far.It really feels good to be putting gates on our fence line now. We are tired of dragging 16 feet of chain link fence around as a gate every time we come and go. Having real swinging gates will be such a blessing. And the pickets on the gate will give us more privacy.Stay tuned for the second part of the video, coming soon....Thanks for watching. Description:
Finally I started to frame in the gates of our homestead driveway. We are fencing in our entire property for protection and security. Today I am working on the entrance gates.

I started out framing in one gate on the ground. I am trying to make it perfectly square so the gates mesh together nicely and look good. The frame is smaller than the pickets which will go on it. And the entire gate will be a couple inches off the ground to stop rot.

I managed to get two gates framed and hung on hinges so far.

It really feels good to be putting gates on our fence line now. We are tired of dragging 16 feet of chain link fence around as a gate every time we come and go. Having real swinging gates will be such a blessing.

And the pickets on the gate will give us more privacy.

Stay tuned for the second part of the video, coming soon....
