How to improve your video and channel rank to gain views, increase in subscribers and, of course, get your video seen on the search engines.

This is the first video in a multi-part series which will show you how to grow your channel and increase your video views.

Today we are going to concentrate on your videos themselves.

The first thing a person is going to see is your video title and thumbnail. These two points must make a good impression on a viewer and make them want to see your video.

The video title must be clear and descriptive of your video. The title should not be too short and should clearly describe to people what your video is about. You want to lure them in to watch your video.

The video thumbnail is also the first thing a person sees when searching for something to watch. The thumbnail should be catchy, clear and set up to draw them in.

The next part is to be sure you use the video description field to its fullest extent. Here you want to explain your video in all detail. Tell people what your video is about. You can use a word by word explanation or a summary of your video. But be very detailed and use about 4 to 6 paragraphs or more to describe your video. This is what the search engines are going to see when looking for something to present to a person.

Search engines will scan your video title and description for keywords. When a person searches for the word "homestead" for example and your video title and description have this word repeatedly then it is more likely that your video will come up in the search engine results.

DIY Tube Video Community search engine will also use the keywords that you use in these fields to help people find your video.

The importance of a very detailed video description cannot be stressed enough. The more you write here, the more likely your videos will be found by people.

One more tool that you can use to help grow your channel is your channel page itself. Here you should set up a good looking banner and thumbnail image. Make sure the name of your channel is descriptive and gives a clear idea of what your channel is about. "Do It Yourself Electronics" for example shows people that the channel is about DIY electronics projects.

Use your channel "about" field to elaborate on what your channel is all about. This is what people are going to read in order to decide if they want to subscribe to your channel or not.

Thank you for watching. Stay tuned for updates and further videos on how to improve your video and channel ranking.
